Become a PADI Wreck Diver and add extra excitement to any dive! Ship wrecks are fascinating windows to the past and also airplanes, buses, cars and even tanks are fascinating to explore and usually covered with aquatic life. Each wreck dive offers a chance for discovery, potentially unlocking a mystery or spying something others have missed. The PADI Wreck Diver Specialty course is popular because it offers rewarding adventures while learning responsible wreck diving practices.

What you Learn:

PADI Wreck Diver Specialty Course is designed to familiarize divers with the skills, knowledge, planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems, hazards and excitement of diving on wrecks. It comprises of just 2 knowledge reviews and 4 exciting dives. There’s no quizzes or exam.

  • 2 knowledge sections of PADI Wreck Diver Manual.
  • First two wreck dives will be dedicated to map the wreck in the 18 – 30 m depth range. You’ll swim around the outside of the wreck, navigate back to your ascent point, identify and avoid potential hazards, locate points of interest and survey the wreck for possible penetration.
  • During your third PADI Wreck Specialty dive you will focus on line deployment, which is preferably done on a shallow dive site.
  • Wreck Dive four four is conducted in the 18 – 40 m depth range. You’ll deploy and retrieve a penetration line, and practice maintaining contact with this without stirring up any silt on the outside of the wreck. You’ll then plan and perform actual wreck penetration with a dive light.

  • To become a PADI Wreck Diver you need to be 15 years of age or older.
  • To enrol in the PADI Wreck Diver Specialty course you need to have at least the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification or equivalent of another training organisation.
  • Please read through the medical questionnaire carefully. If you have to answer any of the medical conditions with a “yes”, then you need to seek approval by a doctor prior to any in-water activities.
